Since I have submitted Break Glass I figure Norman was good enough to share. WARNING! This is a concept charater with no intention of picking up Flaming Swords and what not. Those that read Not the Hero I think will understand.

I have recently hit level 32 and picked up Burn as well as a fully slotted SOs for all abilities. Before this I had maybe a third of my enhancements SO slotted.
He is as much fun to play as he is to write about. Well, for me anyway.
I'll have to grab a screen shot of him too.
I can easily tank 5-6 even level minions and with inspiration management I can go to 12. My Fury bar gets built from the first encounter and I can usually keep 50-90% through most of the mission. I get inspiration drops pretty frequently and with Burn I can fill my slots within a couple minutes.

Before all of the nerfs etc., Celsius Bane could literally herd as many red/purple villains as he could get to follow him into a dumpster, kick off burn repeatedly, and roast them.
This was before burn inspired fear and made the villains run away from it. I have a screenshot of a tanker doing this somewhere, it was insane. Actually this was one of the main reasons I killed off PH in my fiction, because Tankers had become the dreaded Tank/Mage of the MMORPG world. The Dev's "Vision" was that tankers were slower and couldn't hit as hard as blasters but could hold the agro and take the damage, while blasters could dish it out but not take it.
PH could dish it out, definitely could not take it, but when I was playing with CB I felt useless because he could tank and entire mission and all I could do was sit back and do nothing. I got completely frustrated and killed off poor PH because I saw him as useless.
Fortunately they fixed it so that now someone tanking 10-15 baddies is more of a feat, and it is much more difficult for the tanker (and I would assume Brute) to do away with such a big mob.
Sounds like RIP is getting pretty cool, tho.

This guy seems familiar.
Aurora who?
Norman in his RIP/Mu uniform.
Luckily I never experienced Burn in its uber status. Its okay but since I am FIre/Fire with Fiery Embrace at 35 it should really rock and roll.
Actually I don't have Boxing yet. Kick said it knocksdown which is does not most of the time, it knocksback. I do not know the Power Pool they are from at all because this is the first time I have taken it.

W00t!
RIP enters Warburg for second time in an effort to squash a rebel uprising. Actually just to acquire a nuke for himself. I tried to get one upon hitting 30, but the Web proved to tough.
This time with Burn things were improved, but not perfect. Burn has become a "stop attacking me unless you want to die" power. Taunt in Blazing Aura always causes those who run to turn around and run back in. Also I leanred I cannot just jump in and tank 5-6 white and yellow arachnids (not sure what those creatures are called in the Web off hand.)
Anyway with only one death RIP acquires the sought after weapon. Upon securing the code I rush off to the launch pad. I stand there and compose a screen shot. While composing I think it was a Stalker attempts to assassinate me. Not sure if they were a Stalker or not. Someone was stalking him it seems because after he struck someone attacked him as well. My health took a minor hit which I found very shocking considering RIPs previous battles with Voltech. I seemed to be somewhat impervious. Maybe RIPs attacks weren't uber without Fury, but his toughness seems okay. After the attack I stay at the control panel and start stacking Burns with Blazing Aura on. I wondered if any cloaked people would attack me with Aura and Burn's going. It wasn't long, but the answer is yes. A invisible person did try to attack me. My initial attack dropped his health to about a third before the fled.
RIP senses another precense in Warburg and nonchalantly just tours the zone. Spectreblade decided he wanted a piece of the Protector and a piece he got. RIP was able to stand against the dark scrapper and the fight was quite good. RIP fell.
After that Norman wandered about and stood atop the globe droping Burn's again. A spines scrapper shows up and attacks. RIP is victorious. A controller with Hurricane shows up and I try to stand there not really attacking. His attacks really don't hurt me so I bask in the glow of my own fires safe. We do eventually take shots at each other and I manage to get my endurance drained, but I recover. I flee board with the fight. He can't really hurt me and Hurricane is an annoyance. RIP leaves taking "the button" to his newest weapon under his belt.
Will RIP ever see Warburg again? I think yes.

That there is a good foundation for a story. "a day in the life of RIP" All the badass stuff he does on a black ops mission. I like it. I need to play my villains more.

Well a certain Rogue Isle Protector responded to an emergency call recently that entailed beating Eochai(sp?). Arriving on scene a team had already engaged the beast. I shot out a local, "Any slots available," and went to town anyways.
The invite never came, but RIP pulled the badge out anyways. I guess my gimp conceptual build did 10% of the damage by HIMSELF.

I really like RIP. The one thing I seem to be missing is what kind of organization he's a part of. He obviously not a "villain", but he's not a hero either. It seems he takes orders from Arachnos himself. I have seen hints of some kind of RIP program. are they all suited up in teh same duds, like a kinda creepy police force or are they individual, more like detectives?
just curious.

I had the same thing happen with PH in Peregrine the other night when I was trying to work up the salvage for his 5th costume.
I don't know if I did 10% damage alone or not, but I got the badge. Maybe I did. There were quite a few 48-50's pounding the big pumpkin.

When you get to to know it you will love it. I have used it for Wraith up until this latest respec and Desimus with exceptional results. The reason that I dropped it with Wraith is that you run into so many varients of damage in PvP that it was not worth the powers and slots usage.
Box is a solid attack despite being pure smashing/lethal. If you get a chance I would strongly consider exchanging Box with one of your moderite/minor damage fast recharge attacks in the early game so that you can take Tough earlier too and not have a waisted attack. In most cases for Tanks, scrappers, and Brutes taking box instead of a low end primary attack will make no difference in your overall attack abilities.
Tough is like Temporary Invulnerability (though why they call it temporary anymore I dont know since its a toggle) except that it has a slightly lower end usage. Without that power I would probably never use Desimus in a team again but with it I can actualy herd as long as the mobs are doing primarily Smash and Lethal.
I fully intend on getting these powers for Victor, my Fire/Energy tank.
Also, just as a sort of side not, check out this link for a guide to aid self. This is a power that I may be working in to a few of my builds with the upcoming respecs from I8.

He is most definately belongs to Arachnos. Lord Recluse initailly started the program mirroring the Revenant Program from Crey Industries. He has since left the program to follow his other ambitions, like the Super Arachnids. In his wake he left Arachnos a Rogue Isle Protection program.
It is very much like the Paragon Protectors but more. Arachnos wanted the most loyal, to the point of fanaticly so, troopers. The RIPs know the PPs are brainwashed to instill loyalty while RIPs truly believe in Arachnos and the glorius future it will bring to the world.
Since RIPs are more free thinking they have been given a unique job. They are the secret police of Arachnos, challenging the loyalty of its own members. They are hated, feared, and envied for this mission. They are also considered the secret police of the Rogue Isles. They root out betrayal and squash rebellion where they fight it. Some respect them and some do not.
To accomplish this mission they are allowed to intermingle in their own affairs. Proving themselves among the most faithful they can run their "own" projects. If ever a RIP scheme intereferes with another from among the RIP, they sit down and discuss a mutually beneficail resolvement. I see this similar to the "assassin" from Serentiy, the movie.
RIPs do not "air their dirty laundry." Any issues among them are solved within the ranks behind close doors. Disloyalty and treason against Arachnos are the worst crimes and bring swift penalities of death. The only time RIPs are seen in uniform are the worst. They are about to kick ass. One is bad, but for hard missions three in not uncommon, especially with one commander and two trainees.
To the populace of the Rogue Isle they are viewed as awed heroes with a minor suspicious air. If they are here to see you then that sucks.
They buy into Lord Recluses vision. The strong must protect the weak. Even from themselves. The glorious future will be one of peace and prosperity. The ends does justify the means.
I hope my next project will delve into the inner workings of the RIP. Since Norman himself has some new recruits to train, I will pull baxk the iron curtain and take a look.
Fresh mutant abilities are always sought after. It can be a DNA samples or volunteers. It really doesn't matter.
Hope this wets your appetite.

WIth Veteran rewards I am planning to drop Brawl from my attack chain. Use Boxing with End Reducer and Recharge. Set on auto and its almost the same as Brawl but better. I also use origin power in chain as a filler. Drop that for Sands of Mu.
