Posted: Tue Aug 22, 2006 9:32 am    Post subject: Fight Science   I caught part of this television show on the National Geographic channel and I will most definately be watching it Sunday Aug. 27. It is quite fascianting. Quote: National Geographic Channel's Fight Science Explores the Power of the Martial Arts Before you roll your eyes and think "Oh great, another martial arts television show", take a minute and really look at the trailer for the National Geographic Channel's Fight Science. While at first glance it looks like another version of the Discovery Channel's XMA show, it is actually a promising, interesting documentary that explores the potential of the human body. Just how powerful is a well trained Muay Thai fighter? How hard can a Brazilian Jujitsu fighter torque your arm in an arm bar? Just how hard does a high quality Tae Kwon Do fighter kick? By using some specially designed crash test dummies and other computerized sensors, the scientists involved in this special attempt to see just how powerful, fast and agile trained martial artists in different styles can be.
