Holy shit.... She speaks!!!

THREE babies? Yikes.

Ok about the story,

I like this a lot. It brings real emotion into play, makes you really feel for Myth.

I also like the way it's pointed out that not only can Myth feel the emotions around him, but they can feel his as well, and what an impact that can have.

It's obvious there is very close familiarity with actual combat from reading this.

Thank you much everyone for the kind the reviews. Fix really set the bar high for this series with Red Rage and in all honesty it really served as a form of isnperation for me while writing this one.

I know that you have already written your main character's 'Rikti history' PH, but I gotta say I would love to see you make an addition to this series.

... you know you want to Wink .

Ok...it's done. It'll be posted next week.

As MW said, I've already written my main character's Rikti night...so I wrote the events from a different perspective.

It's a quickie, and isn't nearly as emotionally compelling as MW's entry, and doesn't have the cool, gives you shivers, ending that Tropics did, but hopefully it'll be a neat look into another of my characters.

Damn that was fast.

Can I have the completed work of From the Ashes this afternoon?

Just thought I'd ask.

Well, it may come across as rushed...guess we'll have to see.

I could post the link for you guys, but I have this weird thing that it'd be stepping on Tropic's toes. So guess it'll have to wait for the update next week.

Actually I thought it took a long time. I mean, I knew the general idea of what I would write, and just made the specifics come out, but it felt like I was typing forever. It's only 1650 words or so long, so an hour and a half seems long to me.

maybe I just have a weird outlook on it.

OK, I know I'm WAY behind the curve here, and it is very hard to say in a new way what everyone has already said, but I have never understood Myth and what makes him tick better than I did in this short story.
This was exactly what I had in mind for these little one shots.

Much thanks Fix, and don't worry about being late. You had a good reason. Wink

This was not at all what I originaly intended for Myth's Rikti War experience. In fact when I wrote the outline for the story this was just a minor scene but when you put out Red Rage the insperation kind of hit home and heres what came out.

I have to say, this joint effort series has been alot of fun to read and keep up with. I think this whole flash-fiction thing might just be alright Laughing . The strength to this series really is that so many people are getting involved with it. A quick flash fiction in and of itself is not powerful enough to project the overwelming loss of an event like this invasion but when you hear story after story of loss and sacrifice and heroism it makes it feel so much more human. Almost as if you are going through the history book reading the eye-witness accounts of some horrible war.
