Extremely cool. Being not much of an artist, I'm very impressed at the use of screenshots and maniuplation, along with the black and white tone of the piece.
The story is short, holds many of the typical elements of our standard hero backgrounds, but is told with a nice noir, Chandler-esqe flair.
Excellent.

Truly the patience you must have had to get the right screen shots is impressive in itself. It was great , hope to see more in the future

Thanks for the kind words.
I have to say that the most challenging part wasn't necessarily getting the screenshots, but having to re-write the story in ways to conform to what I could and couldn't do with the shots. There were some things that I wanted to show or illustrate that just couldn't be easily done through screenshots.
Some things were possible with a little screen editing (Partizan and Shandora are on the same account, so they never really appeared at the same place at the same time for any of the shots) but many ideas just had to be scrapped or retold in ways to fit what I was able to capture.
That was before I learned about DemoEdit. Now, I can get a few more of the shots I wanted- heroes walking, for example. Unfortunately, it's also meant that I'm more demanding on getting the shot I want. I could probably draw a comic in the time it's taking to do the next story.... if I could draw.

Did you use Comic Book Creator?
I had toyed with the idea of trying a comic book format, but never got around to it. I can imagine a story would have to be thought out differently to represent it.
I love demo editing, but i wish they could have came up with some interface to help with camera views and such. I remember playing some WWII Flight Sim a number of years ago that had a playback feature that doubled as an editor. You could stop action change your view, then continue, etc.
Maybe I'll look into trying my own comic again.

Yes, I used Comic Book Creator. it really did help streamline the process, though there were some hitches that bugged me. Once you selected a panel set, you couldn't change it (like if you realized you needed fewer panels or the image you wanted was too blocky for that panel size) and you'll notice some issues with text wrapping/spacing.
All-in-all, it's a great little tool, though.
How much time did it take? Well, I intentionally gave myself a strict limit- I have a problem with constantly tweaking and never completing, so I did this in the evenings, over the course of a week- and I was on travel for 3 days of the week.
Since I started playing with demoedit.... I think the quality will improve, but so did the time committment.

That was AWESOME!
unfortunately, comming in so late, pretty much all the things I wanted to say have been said. But I'll say 'em anyway.
The noir of the black and white was great, it really gave a feel like an old detective story, what with the narration and all. The characters were well thought out and the bonus feature of the costumes and backgrounder was a special treat.
Damn, wish I woulda thought of that first.
Great work!
