Glad to see you post again Ed, and get a further glimps into your characters lives, brief though it may have been. Touching none the less. A good quick read... kinda made me miss my mom. Hmmm maybe I should call her.

I was deep in thought of how to post to the story.
At first I thought it was an origin story which it sort of is but in a way it isnt. Hmmm im not sure if that makes sense but its what im running with.
I liked how you gave us a more emotional insight into what your characters are about too.
The fact her enemy used her in such hateful way which was intended to hurt her Emotionally / Mentally / Spiritually, but had the almost opposite effect
showing Love will always prevail in the face of evil and transcend all boundaries was truly inspiring.
If this wasn't what you were aiming for then please feel free to correct me Its just the way I viewed it and I applaud you for this emotional piece.
Now that my momment of weakness is over back to being the tough, gruff, villain I am
Hope to see more from you ED. I think this story is a long way from over

Touching. As a new father of a beautiful baby girl, this kinda of hit home to me.
The story its self was a little jumbled. It reads a little bit like several pieces of a longer tale. It was kind of like watching the middle half hour of Pulp Fiction. I'm looking forward to reading more from you and getting the rest of the tale. Maybe I've already missed part of it my recent absence, hmm I'll go check.
I really like the idea of an 18 year old child who has heroic potential. Like I said very touching.

Thank you all for your views. I'm really glad that this small glimpse into Flare's life struck a cord in you. That was very much my intent as I wanted to bring light to the dynamics of love and hate and emotional conflict into this short piece.
I know it seems unfair that I haven't submitted a bigger story about Flareback and Company. I will try to get that taken care of as quickly as possible. I tend to put alot of emotion into what I do so I start by dipping my toe into the water sort-of-speak, to test people reactions before I dive in.
I'll clean up my intro story and get it out here for everyone to see and then I'll keep it going.
