Ok, ok... I'll say it up front, I am begging for money. Before you go somewhere funnier or more entertaining, just read through this, it may help someone you know.
When I had a family member diagnosed with an acute mental disorder, most likely schizophrenia, my family had no idea what to do. Dealing with this person was... difficult. Not just dealing with day to day, but the big stuff. When there was a problem, getting the right officer (a C.I.T. officer to be exact) to come to the scene was difficult to put it lightly. (The sherriff's office had no idea what a CIT officer was!) But there is help.
N.A.M.I. (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has been a huge boon in my family. They are an organization that helps with everything from getting treatment to spreading awareness and fighting the stigma of mental illness. This weekend they are holding a local fundraiser. A walk to be specific. I am walking in their event and am looking for sponsers. I realize that I am not talking to a rich crowd (at least... I'M not rich) but even a couple of bucks helps. I'm $50 away from hitting my goal and the walk is tomorrow. It only struck me just now to call on my friends here online to try to get some help. If you are unable to help, no biggie, I understand. If you are, please go to
www.nami.org/namiwalks07/SLC/bubs
if you aren't in a position to donate, just remember the name. I guarantee someday it will help somebody.
Thanks for reading this long ass post.

Well, that's a sad and inspiring story Fix..
I'd like you to know that I'd help right away if I could, but alas, I am in no position to donate as I am only 17 and completly flat-out broke!
I really hope you reach and even surpass your goal and that the member in your family that suffers from the illnes has his/hers burden eased..
Best of luck, Riot.
