Well with my Tank fianly amking it to level 47 there are really only two things left to do with him in my opinion.

1. Hang out in the Hive collecting Hami's while I piddly may way to 50 (something I am not driven to do honestly. Once I hit 47 im pretty much happy with letting the character ride.)

2. Turn him into a PvP monster. This is the tough part. To be honest this toon sucks at PvP so far. He is an Invulnerable Supper Strength tank and while I have the PvE aspect of using him down there just seems to be something about PvPing with him that eludes me becuase I have yet to win a fight where I did not use some aspect of my environment to tip the odds in my favor. I tried posting something on the official forums and the only responses I have gotten so far are 'delete the character' and get 'aid self'... I had already mentioned on my post that I used Aid Self Rolling Eyes .

So without drawing this post out any more, has anyone here had experiances with Invulns they could shair? Anything will help me formulate a plan for this toon. I have about five respecs available for him so I can afford to play around a little.

Hey MW could I get to post a build. I don't have a lot experience with it only having a SS/INV Brute but I would be more then willing to help brainstorm.

I am currerntly hocking http://www.cohplanner.com which I feel is just awesome.

I have a lv. 12 SS/Inv brute, but he's no tank. From what I can figure, most of Invulnerability's damage resistance comes from passives, and while they cost no endurance, they don't provide as much protection as a toggle would. That is why some people knock it. Some Invulnerability users skip the passives altogether, but I plan on having them on my brute. Hey, it's better than nothing. But then again, I don't have much experience with the set.

I am currnetly using the following powers. (Didn't export it becuase I wanted to show the Hami's too.)

Invulnerability:
Temp Invulnerability 1xRibosome 2xdam res 1xEnd red
Dull Pain 3xRecharge 3xHealth
Unyielding 1xEnd Red 3xDam Res
Invincibility 1xCytoskeleton 2xDef 1xEnd Red
Unstopable 3xRec Red
Tough Hide 3x Def

Super Strength
Jab
Punch
Haymaker
Taunt 2xRec Red 2x Enh Taunt
Knockout Blow 1xAcc 2xPerxisome 1xDam 1x End Red 1xRec
Rage 3xRec Red 2xTo Hit
Foot Stomp
(all attacks except KB are six slotted with 1xacc 1xRec 1xEnd and 3xDam)

I have a fully slotted Aid Self, and three slotted Health and Stamina. I use and unslotted Haste pretty regularly and Super Speed for travel.

Epics are
Focused Accuracy 2xEnd Red 1x To hit
Conserve Power (havent slotted it yet but want three Recharge Reductions)

A stalker chimmed in about the fact that I wanted to use Rage and Foccused Acc at the same time. He said he would have to respec into more def in his stealth if that became a trend... probably the most constructive comment I heard from the post.

Ok after some thought this is my tenative build. Numbers indicate the amount of additional slots added to the power.

1: Jab 5
1: Temporary Invulnerability 3
2: Punch 5
4: Dull Pain 5
6: Combat Jump
8: Unyielding 3
10: Haymaker 5
12: Swift 2
14: Super Jump
16: Health 2
18: Invincibility 3
20: Stamina 2
22: Aid Other
24: Knockout Blow 5
26: Aid Self 5
28: Tough Hide 2
30: Rage 4
32: Provoke 1
35: Intimidate 2
38: Foot Stomp 5
41: Focused Accuracy 1
44: Conserve Power 3
47: Resist Elements 2
49: Resist Energies 2

As you can see, the two passives are sort of an after thought. There is so much conflict about the Invuln passives on the boards I figure I can't really go wrong either way and it will help out (no matter how minutely) against those pesky non-smashing/lethal damage types.

I have a fealing that I will miss Hasten but sacrifices must be made. In PvP i think I will get better performance out of Intimidate.

I am wondering if I should consider trading something out for unstopable. The more i think about it though the less I can concieve of a situation where it would be smart to pop that power while PvP'ing. Things are just to random in a PvP zone and the drop would more than likely mean death almost 100% of the time. Still... if i could take down one or two Villians before it crashed it would be worth it i guess.

Well I stuck to that build for the most part. Though I desided to trade foot stomp for Unstopable and dont regret it at all.

I took Desimus into RV for a test run and was duely impressed with the results. There were at best count three Stalkers in the zone harvesting turrets for prestige, influence, badges or all of the above. But they were all 50's so I figured they were fair game.

The first one I encountered had a set based soely on Def and to be honest he kind of hurt my fealings at first becuase even with Foccused Accuracy, Rage and Invincibility I still had to pop an Insp before I could hit him. Once I did that though his health dropped like a rock and he quickly flead the scene, admitting that he had been owned.

My second encounter was with a Regen Stalker. It was rather amusing becuase he was standing on a rooftop letting his heavy do all the work. He was Hidden but thank the devs for the +Perception of Foccused Accuracy. I could tell he was a little confused when I landed behind him becuase he just slowly turned around and watched me as i wound up a Knockout Blow and cut his HP by almost a third. True to the regen set however, he was back at 100% in seconds and our fight ranged all over the east side of RV with us dancing just out of range of the others Heavy. The fight ended when I eventualy lost sight of him and his Heavy gave up the chase.

The third fight was sort of his revenge becuase I went back to the roof he had been on and waited for him to come back. He did come back eventualy... but with another Regen stalker. I was doomed from the word GO, becuase these two had their game down tight. They constantly traded in and out, one rushing in with the AS and holding my attacks while the other ran out of my perception range to ready itself for the next AS. I didn't make it easy on them however. This build showed its true collars and I managed to get them both down to less than half health before both my Insp and my Endurance ran out, letting my toggles give way.

Sugar I went down swingin' Twisted Evil .

I am about to hop back on and take it for another round of tests. I will keep you guys informed. Any tips you guys would have would be much apreciated.

It definately looks like your on the right track. I have been mulling over you build. I am having similar issues with RIP. I have only two main attacks and low level ones at that. I round out my attack chain with Sands of Mu and Boxing. I still have gaps in my chain I would like to fill.

So what do I do? I thought about replacing Temperature Protection with Cremate and maybe swapping in Greater Fire Sword. Something that may help and get pumped with Fiery Aura. I tested with Cremate and Completely walked through mobs. Without Temp Prot. I am sure I will be unable to tank Eochai ever again. I guess I'll have to decided at 50 whether to keep him as is or go for PVP.

I am of the school if you main attcks kill to quickly your not using Fury to its advantage.

See, I am not too familiar with how Fury works. This is my only REAL reason for wanting to start playing villians... 'know thine enemy.' But everyone swears by 'burst' damage. *shrugs* My DM/Regen does awsome without it but I still can't argue with the fact that in PvP zones, the longer the fight the more likely your are going to die.

But at 50 (or 47 if your really into it) that will be when you really have to make the decision. This build odviously would not be able to Tank very well at all for a large team, in fact it really wouldn't be very good for soloing. So it all depends on what you want to be able to do with your character.

If you truely are interested in PvP then I would say Hell yes drop Temp protection and throw in the best attack you can get your hands on. Lets face it, there are only three power sets in the Heroes arsenal that deal with fire.

There is one power, perhaps it is cremate, that a fire/fire brute used to KO me in about 5 seconds flat with my old build. It was a DoT and i believe AoE. I was too hard headed to back off so it cleaned my clock and I ended up loosing the pill box.
