More PC Questions from Idiot!

Got it into my head to build another pc. This one a micro atx, small Apevia Q-XPack 2 micro tower. Got it built but..... When I try to load the hd disk i get this message: "No CD ROM Drive found - check power and cable" - it runs and has power. changed the sata cable with same result. "IDE CD ROM device driver not installed" well..duh! I cant load/partition the drive hence no drivers! "NWCDEX.EXE" "Driver not found 'generic' NWCDEX.EXE requires a driver name to be specified" - I cant specify a driver because i cant get in to put drivers in! Gahhh! Any ideas, thoughts? Let me know if more info is needed. Gahhh! I say! Gahhh! Trop

PhoenixHawk Man of Steel Joined: 26 Apr 2006 Posts: 442 Location: as if anyone really gives a crap	Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 3:05 am    Post subject:   did the hard drive come with a partitioning cd? if so it should have its own operating system on it so it can run from the cd. you have to boot from that cd. that probably doesn't help, but let me know. D

Tropic Site Admin Joined: 25 Apr 2006 Posts: 302 Location: Florida	Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 2:30 pm    Post subject:   the first thing i did was try to boot/partition from the hd cd. no joy. after brainstorming while playing the game with 3 guys in my sg one of the more savvy said simply, "Boot from the winxp disk and it will partition the hd" and thats what I did! Worked. Got drive set and windows installed. just have to load drivers and get win updates so it worked out. Thanks for the advice Trop man, you people are gonna make me learn stuff weather i want to or not!
