Actually had to do a little research into the destruction of Columbia, Sherman, and the times. Forgive me if the language is a little flowery but if one reads the correspondence from those times thats kind of how it was! Hope you like it! T

Urban legend says O'Leary cow started the fire. I know some other theories think it may have been sparked by meteorites, due to the quick wide spread area of the seemed to spring up from. I propose a new theory. <Points at Tropic> He did it! Yes, this is a suggestion. I'm pretty sure Chicago wasn't burned down by Sherman and the Union soldiers during the Civil War! I admit the font is a little 'difficult' but I was hoping Columbia, SC was clear! T

I was... hinting. <wink> <wink> <nudge> <nudge> To be more direct it would be neat to write that too. Via wikipedia: Quote: The Great Chicago Fire was a conflagration that burned from Sunday October 8 to early Tuesday October 10, 1871, killing hundreds and destroying about four square miles in Chicago, Illinois. Though the fire was one of the largest U.S. disasters of the 19th century, the rebuilding that began almost immediately spurred Chicago's development into one of the most populous and economically important American and international cities. It was only 6 years later. There is a good theory about meteors, even mentioned on a television special. Which one at the moment escapes me. I first heard it there. If you look at wiki, check the discussions tab. I know it is discussed there. After your story 1865, I have now doubt this supposed meteor theory, was actually eye witnesses of Tropic.
